Ayala Museum and Filipinas Heritage Library Start to Reopen Its Doors for Art Lovers

While the art industry found ways to thrive in the time of lockdowns, nothing beats being physically present in exhibits and museums to immerse oneself in art. Now, art lovers can rejoice because art spaces are opening up, and one of those is the newly-renovated Ayala Museum and Filipinas Heritage Library.
Starting last December 4, 2021, the Ayala Museum kicked off it’s soft reopening just in time for the holidays and to offer a taste of normalcy back to art enthusiasts. The reopening also coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Ayala Foundation.
Excited to visit? We’re rounding up everything that’s new in the Ayala Museum and Filipinas Heritage Library. First, a new inviting lobby that is integrated closer to the Greenbelt area will welcome you.
Next, there are five new exhibits for you to explore. The “Intertwined: Transpacific, Transcultural Philippines” exhibit showcases the resulting entangled cultures brought by mankind’s ability to circumnavigate the world featuring over 240 curated objects and artworks.
“Landscape into Painting: Fernando Zobel Serie Blanca” is a nod to the man behind Ayala Museum by featuring works of Fernando Zobel. The Orientations Gallery highlights the wealth and diversity in the cultures and peoples all over the Philippines and our history. The Digital Gallery, made up of eight screens, provides a digital way for visitors to explore objects from the museum and library collections and engage in conversations with art and history for free. Lastly, a refreshed Diorama Experience will be available.
In addition to that, visitors can also expect the museum to live in digital space through a new website and an upcoming app--allowing Filipinos whether here or abroad to have access to Philippine art and culture 24/7. The online portal allows visitors to book visits in advance, participate in events like workshops, conferences, and performances, access the museum’s collection online, explore learning resources, and access Filipinas Heritage Library’s own website. The website will also support onsite exhibits through content that will broaden one’s understanding and appreciation.
As we continue to make adjustments into the new normal, health and safety protocols are in place for visitors. All guests visiting the Ayala Museum and Filipinas Heritage Library must be fully-vaccinated and will have to provide proof of vaccination upon entry.
