After bagging multiple awards in the local music scene and a Billboard Music Awards nomination for “Top Social Artist,” P-Pop idol boy group SB19 adds another stellar bullet on their resume.

Thanks to their many contributions to Filipino music and culture, as well as their ongoing promotions to share them to the world, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) appointed the five-piece group with the title “Youth and Sentro Rizal Ambassador.”

According to the NCCA’s Facebook post they published about the appointment, “SB19 was chosen to be the NCCA Youth Ambassadors and face of Sentro Rizal not only because of their growing fanbase and influence in the local and international scenes, but also of their willingness to support the NCCA’s endeavors, as well as for their genuine care for advocacies to uplift the Filipino spirit, music and culture to the global scene, which is in line with the NCCA’s mandate to promote Philippine arts and culture worldwide.”

Sentro Rizal is the Philippines’ hub for culture for Filipinos overseas, and for anyone else interested in anything Filipino. It was formally established by the NCCA in 2011, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.

SB19 is a Pinoy pop boy group formed by ShowBT Entertainment, consisting of members Justin, Ken, Josh, Pablo, and Stell. After three years of rigorous training, the group debuted with their single “Go Up,” which won Song of the Year at the 2020 Myx Music Awards.
